Aalborg Defense and Garnison Museum
The history of Danish Total Defense gathered in one place.
The museum is located in historical buildings from the time around World War II, with bla. giant German fly hangers and command bunks:
1940-1945: German water aerodrome - one of three operational German aerodromes during the war
1945-1949: Refugee camp for German refugees in Denmark, one of the many major refugee camps in Aalborg
Nowhere else in Denmark can you find the history of the general defense and occupation time 1940-1945 exhibited under the same roof.
In the exhibitions you can get close to handgun weapons, fighters, police motorcycles and much other material that has been part of the Danish Total Defense in War and Peace.
The museum includes several special exhibitions on bla. WW2; German refugees in Denmark after the war; Aalborg as Garnisonsby since 1779 mm.
