Around 1880 there were approximately 1250 people in Hørsholm - against the small 25,000 living here today. The municipal school lesson was similarly much smaller. There were two so-called training schools in Rungsted (14-15 children) and Hørsholm (23 children) respectively. A training school was a school for the smaller children. The larger from the whole municipality, on the other hand, were assembled in a school that was in an existing building on Folehavevej nr. 25. Here there were 38 girls and 40 boys in school but only every other day and for the sake of the agricultural use of the children's labor In the summertime they went to school less in the summer than in winter.
