The National Museum is Denmark's largest and largest cultural history museum - and we have many museums in one. The museum includes a number of places of visit in addition to the exhibitions of the Prince Palace in Copenhagen: Frilandsmuseet, Brede Værk, The Jelling of the Kings, Frøslevlejrens Museum, Trelleborg, Tøjhus Museum, Orlogsmuseet, Three Historic Homes (including Klunkehjemmet), Liselund, Commandargården, Frihedsmuseet (which is closed due to fire) and the Music Museum (which opens in new surroundings in 2014).
The National Museum consists of three departments: Research and Communication, Conservation and Science, as well as Operations and Administration. The National Museum performs a number of key tasks at national level in the following areas: archeology, ethnology, numismatics, ethnography, science, conservation, dissemination, counseling concerning church restoration.
